I woke up a bit earlier today with a slight headache, and I tried to identify the cause. Having drank some water, I checked my blood pressure, and it was normal, so I ruled that out. You may be wondering why, but I will come back to that shortly.

I have deffered my hospital visit to run some tests, as I have observed malaria symptoms for some weeks now. So, I concluded on scheduling that for this weekend.

Now, why am I sharing this? It is to let you know that there is no super human anywhere and that we need to be deliberate about our health. If you are over 40 (some even say 35), and you don’t check your BP, eat right, and exercise regularly, you are doing yourself a great disservice.

Everything is not an attack from ‘village people’ (in African parlance), some things are just results of our poor lifestyle choices. So, I urge you to become intentional about healthy living from now on.

Have a regular workout or exercise routine, eat healthy, avoid junk food and those fizzy drinks, as they simply fizz life out from the body. Set time aside for feeding your soul and mind. Routine medical checkup is good, if you can afford it.

In summary, take care of yourself, as that is your personal responsibility.

I woke up in the early hours of yesterday, and while meditating, the thought of someone I haven’t spoken to since December crossed my mind. We last met at the burial ceremony of my friend’s mother. While still in bed, I made a mental note to call him later in the day.

But as I was heading to work, I saw a message from him seeking clarification about some matter. I was like, “Wow, how come I just thought about you earlier today, Egbon, and you also reached out the same day.” I am sure some of us have experienced this, with both good and bad memories.

We call it different names ‘strong feelings’, ‘intuition’ or ‘nudge from the spirit’, whatever it is we call it, it is real. Sometimes, those nudges come at crucial times when our calls or messages may save a life or a situation.

Let us learn to recognise such moments and heed when nudged, for we may be the last chance to save a situation. Sometimes, too, we are the recipients of such gestures when you are about giving up on a matter and someone shows up or calls to give you a break.

So, if you have been having a strong feeling to reach out to someone, it is probably God’s way of using you as an angel for that person. Please take necessary actions.
