Up Close and Personal – 25022026

Lately, I have been doing a lot of self-reflection, and I realised I have evolved in a number of ways, mostly in the positive light. Of course, there are areas I definitely need to step up my game.

On the positive side, I used to find it difficult saying ‘No’ to others, when I should. I realised that I no longer succumb to every demand on my time or resources, I have no guilt now saying a necessary and polite ‘No’.

This has helped me recalibrate my time better, and focus on the things that really matter in the big scheme of things.

Another area is that I don’t feel guilty for not being able to help everyone around me, because that is not my calling. My calling is to help those within my capacity, and those who deserve and appreciate the help.

I am also doing better at prioritising myself, not in a selfish way, but in a way that shows that I value myself. In resource allocation, whether of time, energy or money, I now prioritize myself better, and I have seen a remarkable difference. A better version of me keeps emerging.

On the downside, I don’t know if it is totally wrong, I am now beginning to question long-held belief a lot. Especially when it comes to some religious teachings, I now do a lot of internal debates, and challenge some status quo that often defy logic. Maybe because I took everything hook, line and sinker in my early days in the journey of faith, I am now beginning to question some things, and searching for more answers, which leads to deeper knowledge.

I must admit, this is one area I consider a work-in-progress, and I trust God I will emerge whole and sound.

How has life shaped you? Do you have similar experience?

Have a wonderful day.

Cheers!
