Up Close and Personal – 23042025

The past week or so has been filled with sad news; stories of the sudden passing of people who seemed too young to die. A colleague shared the loss of two friends, a male and a female, both under 40, within the space of one week.

On Saturday afternoon, while scrolling through new IG reels, I came across the announcement of Pastor BJ’s passing; he died that same day at 50.

Then, on Sunday, I saw another post about a man who slumped and died during his wife’s 60th Thanksgiving Service in church. All of these deeply saddening incidents prompted this post.

First, please pay attention to your health. Listen when your body sends signals to rest or slow down. This is not to blame those who have passed, but a reminder that heeding these signals can reduce the risk of sudden heart or organ failure.

Second, don’t carry burdens heavier than you can bear, and don’t tempt God by ignoring medical advice or counsel.

Third, we each have an appointed time and place to exit this world, so do your best to live prepared.

And finally, make peace with your Maker before you rest from this side of eternity, only then can you truly rest in peace.

Cheers, and enjoy the rest of your day and week.
