One of the lessons I have learned in life is that the more you chase after things, the more you complicate your life. Simply put, less is more, and there is beauty in simplicity.
How do I mean? Starting with the small things, I can decide quickly what to wear when I have fewer options, whether it’s shoes, belts, suits, or wristwatches. This means I spend less time getting ready for wherever I am going. Unless you are in the entertainment industry or a celebrity, you don’t need a large wardrobe. It comes with high maintenance costs and the expense of keeping up appearances.
If you happen to either gain or lose weight, you face the additional headache of either adjusting your clothes or replacing them altogether.
Deciding what to eat is also easier when you have fewer options, though it’s essential to eat healthily. The more gadgets you acquire, the higher the maintenance costs, whether in data or subscription fees.
The more vehicles you own, the more you worry about license renewals, servicing, insurance, and other related expenses. This principle applies to almost all aspects of life. So, minimize your tendency for more acquisitions without necessarily being unambitious.
There is too much vanity in the things that keep us up at night, the things that make us worried and agitated.
So, truly, less is more, and there is more peace in simplicity.
Cheers, and have a great day.
